Swanage Folk Festival
Swanage Folk Festival
Friday 8th September - Sunday 13th September 2020
Now an established fixture on the calendar, the second weekend after the August Bank Holiday Monday, the festival provides entertainment and fun for all, much of it free!
Many dance sides travel from all over the country to dance at Swanage. The dancers in their costumes add a vibrancy to the atmosphere in the town.
A variety of activities for children take place on the Sandpit Field over the weekend.
Saturday at 3.30pm features the procession of dance sides through the town, featuring somewhere in the region of 50 dance sides from the world of Morris, Apalachian, Clog and maybe some more exotic dance styles.
Concerts and events are held at a variety of venues in the town centre.

T-POW also organises the challenge events for The Purbeck Nordic Walking UK Festival. This festival is set to be the Nordic walking event in the UK and the Marathon challenge is the first of its type in the UK.
T-POW also organises The Purbeck Bikemonger Bimble in association with Charlie the Bikemonger. All profits from the Bikemonger Bimble and the other events organised by T-POW go to charities and good causes.

Held in the lush, green Purbeck countryside on the outskirts of Swanage in Dorset, the fourth Wilkswood Reggae Festival will take place from 24th July to 26th July 2020.
Previous year's festivals have seen reggae legends, pioneers and flag bearers from the UK and abroad perform across three stages. Previous headliners on the main stage have included Lee 'Scratch' Perry & Mad Professor, General Levy & Joe Ariwa, Earl Sixteen & Carroll Thompson, Mikey General, Brinsley 'Aswad' Forde, Janet Kay, Tippa Irie and Festus Coxsone.
There are two additional performance and soundsystem stages, a chillout zone, late-night Shebeen, street food stalls (including the famous Jerkshak Caribbean cuisine and a wood-fired pizza van) and bars serving ice cold Red Stripe, craft ales, local cider and rum cocktails!
The Wilkswood Reggae Festival is first and foremost a family-friendly festival and there is plenty to keep the kids entertained with a dedicated play area, the leafy Dingly Dell featuring storytelling and music and the hugely popular hay bale castle. To encourage the family atmosphere, we offer reduced prices for children up to the age of 17 and under-threes are free!
